- BRIEF GUIDE OF SIENA -
by Stefano Maccianti

ANSWER:

The saints are: Savino, Pietro, Ansano, Vittore and Paolo. Whenever we see a saint, we can recognize him by his symbols. Savino has the bishop's miter, Pietro has the keys of heaven in his hand, Ansano, the patron saint of Siena, holds the Balzana, the city's coat of arms, Vittore has a sword, while Paolo holds a book and a sword in his hand. They are fifteenth-century work of art by two Sienese sculptors: Antonio Federighi and Il Vecchietta.
